Program Dates: June 21-25th, 2021

Location: Kaneohe on O'ahu Island, Hawaii Pacific University, Hawaii Loa Campus. All students with faculty chaperones will stay overnight in student housing on campus during the program.

Join us to explore and learn how girls and women use Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to make a positive impact in the world, and how you can too! You are invited to apply for a 5-day learning experience for underrepresented girls of color to learn, lead, & build a future that you want to see.

In this program, you’ll get to explore app development, robotics, marine science, botany, space, computer science, and more! Girls will work together engaging with experts in STEM fields, learning new tech tools and skills, and collaborating on projects. Drawing on the nationally recognized CompuGirls’ curriculum, 30 girls (ages 13-18) from throughout Hawaiʻi will advance their abilities to problem-solve and manipulate technology as a tool to create opportunities that support our communities’ environmental, educational, social, health, and cultural well-being. 

This in-person program will be hosted at Hawaii Pacific University - Hawaii Loa Campus, where students will stay in student housing on campus during the program. The program is lead by faculty from Hawaii Pacific University & Arizona State University’s Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology with guest experts and graduate student mentors from a variety of STEM disciplines.

Girls can plan to arrive on June 20th between 5-7pm HST on the campus. The program will close on June 26th at 5pm. More details on drop-off and pickup will be sent after registration. 

Apply by May 15th to reserve your spot! No tech experience required! The only requirement is a willingness to participate in explore these cool uses of technology! 

The program is FREE and includes all inter-island transportation, food, and housing costs.
